Raytheon places orders regarding deliveries of the WISŁA system at Huta Stalowa Wola

On 24th October, Huta Stalowa Wola, part of PGZ Group has been awarded with a contract by Raytheon Company for preparation for the future contract regarding the WISŁA program. PGZ was represented by vice president Sebastian Chwalek, the document was signed by HSW S.A. representatives: Jacek Kosiński and Bartłomiej Zając, and from Raytheon Company by Wes Kremer, Tom Laliberty and
Pete Bata.

This is the first order from the PGZ Group by Raytheon Company as part of the WISŁA program. The contract covers the development of the initial Program Management Plan as well as the Maturity Plan, identifying risks in the implementation of the program. Its formal implementation, in addition to the aforementioned, is also intended to cover the part of costs already incurred by HSW S.A. related to the preparation of the offer for the integration and production of the Patriot M903 missile launcher.

- We are entering the next stage of implementation of the largest armament aquistion program in the history of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and the Polish defense industry, which is our first step on the way to creating a multi-layered, comprehensive defense system of the Polish sky. The partnership with Raytheon Company and the involvement of entities within our Group during the implementation of the first and second phase of the WISLA program will contribute to the acquisition of numerous competences and development of our technical and technological potential in the field of anti-aircraft defense systems - said Sebastian Chwałek, PGZ SA vice president.

Ordering an T&M for HSW S.A. confirms the readiness of the companies included in the PGZ - WISŁA Consortium to implement the program, including offset absorption, but first and foremost it confirms that Group to future orders as part of the delivery of the WISŁA system to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, as well as for the global supply chain of the Patriot system.

Another milestone in the program will be the signing of an executive contract for the integration and production of 16 Patriot missile launchers as part of the implementation of the first phase of the WISŁA program, whose signing is planned later this year. As a result of intergovernmental negotiations, PGZ will obtain technologies and know-how allowing it to obtain over 90% share in the production of the launcher and its components. All batteries supplied to Poland will be equipped with launchers, a large part of which will be built in the national defense industry. Such a solution will also reduce the life-cycle cost (LCC) of launcher systems for which the Group companies will be responsible for operation and modernization.

PGZ – WISŁA Consortium responsible for implementation of the WISŁA program from the Polish side contains fourteen companies: PGZ S.A., Huta Stalowa Wola S.A., MESKO S.A., PIT-Radwar S.A., Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne S.A., Jelcz Sp. z o.o., Autosan Sp. z o.o., Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Centrum Techniki Morskiej S.A.
