Agreement on cooperation between Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. and Polish Naval Academy.
On 27th of June 2012, in a modern, newly opened facilities of the Gdansk AmberExpo XII BALT-MILITARY-EXPO began. The exhibition lasted until Friday, June 29.
On the first day of the fair there was an important event: an Agreement between Huta Stalowa Wola S.A., and Polish Naval Academy AMW was signed. From the AMW’s side the agreement was signed by the Rector of the University - Commander - Admiral Dr. Eng. Czeslaw Dyrcz and Head of Department of Research, Dr. Lesław Mroziński. Huta Stalowa Wola SA was represented by the Chairman of the Board, General Director, Mr Krzysztofr Trofiniak, and Member of the Board – Operational Director, Mr Antoni Rusinek.
The agreement shall establish the relationships in research and application of modern technologies in the field of naval armaments. The Agreement, taking into account the needs of the military training, should be a part of the program of technical modernization of the Polish Navy.
The common goal of HSW and the Naval Academy is to develop guidelines of implementation of HSW multi-function, 35 mm automatic marine cannon KDA to the Navy and its integration with the vessel's fire control system. Content of the agreement also opens the possibility of extending cooperation on the use of selected HSW products to enhance the vessels’ ability of destruction of various land targets and also to implement coastal units to defend the navy against air attack and assault.
Implementation of the agreement will be followed by: a joint undertaking of scientific research and development activities of mutual interest, cooperation in promoting the practical application of the results of scientific research and development in the process of technical modernization of the Navy; sharing of owned research and technical facilities, working closely in the field of scientific research, and particularly - sharing of collections of archives and technical libraries, according to the applicable regulations.
